Questions Regarding Ordering And Shipping

Q. What is the difference between Digital and Optical stabilization? [return to top]
A. Some of the newer high end cameras are starting to use Optical stabilization. This is great for filming your friends. It is not great for filming on your motorcycle. These cameras with Optical zoom will not work on your bike. Digital stabilization is what you want to have. Digital stabilization is standard on almost all cameras.


Q. Will DVD or Harddisk camcorders work? [return to top]
A. DVD and Harddisk cameras will not work because the vibration from the motorcycle effects the spinning disc in the camcorder.


Q. What cameras will fit on the SportBikeCam mount? [return to top]
A. All video and STD (still) cameras will fit on the SportBikeCam mount as they have a standard hole pattern.


Q. How does the camera bolt to the SportBikeCam mount? [return to top]
A. Consumer cameras have a 1/4-20 threaded hole on the bottom. We use this hole to securely hold your camera to the SportBikeCam mount.


Q. How does the SportBikeCam mount fit to my bike? [return to top]
A. It bolts on your stock aircraft style fuel filler using 2 to 4 bolts depending on the bike. The Stainless steel bolts are supplied with the kit.


Q. Can I adjust the angle of the camera? [return to top]
A. You can rotate the camera 360 degrees in the horizontal plane and there is plenty of vertical (up and down) adjustment. You can also move the camera forward and back on the extension arm.


Q. Will it work with tinted windscreens? [return to top]
A. We have customers that use them with no problem, although we don't recommend it for picture quality.


Q. Is an external microphone recommended? [return to top]
A. For best sound quality use a camcorder which has an external microphone input. Use a Radio Shack part# 33-3013 or similar microphone.


Q. What Are My Payment Options? [return to top]
A. You can pay for your online order with Visa or MasterCard. If you have a PayPal account, you may also use your PayPal funds or pay with an eCheck from your checking account.


Q. How long will my order take to get to me? [return to top]
A. Website orders are processed and shipped on the same or next business day after they are received. Phone orders placed before 3PM PST are shipped on the same day they are received. Shipping times vary depending on the state you live in and your choice of delivery (Ground, 2nd Day Air, etc.). Orders can take up to 5 business days to reach customers on the East Coast.


Q. How much will shipping cost? [return to top]
A. Shipping is calculated based on the approximate weight of your package. When you put items in your shopping cart, the shipping cost is calculated and adjusted according to the items you put in your cart. If you'd like to know how much your shipping cost would be for an item, you can click '"Check Shipping Option" in the bottom right hand corner of the shopping cart.


Q. How do I place an order online? [return to top]
A. Ordering online is simple and fast with SportBikeCam.com. As you're browsing through the products, when you see something you like, simply click on the button 'Buy Now'. Once you have clicked this button you will be redirected to your shopping cart. The shopping cart page will show everything you've ordered. If you'd like to continue browsing the online site then just click the box that says "Continue Shopping" in the lower right hand corner of the page. Once you have added all the items you'd like to your shopping cart, click the "Checkout" button. You will then be redirected to the login page. After you have confirmed the information, your order will be placed and you will receive an e-mail confirmation.

    We have friendly customer service representatives waiting to help you with your order. Call us during our normal business hours of 9AM - 6PM (PST) at 650-592-5506. We can answer any questions you have, and make sure that your order is processed and delivered to you with the greatest care and quality.
  • Place your order by fax
    You can fax in your order anytime to our toll free fax number: 650-592-5506. Simply add items to your cart as if you were making an online purchase, and select "Pay by Fax (Printable Order Form)". Complete your order and you will receive an order form that you can print and fax to the number above.
  • Mail in your order

Please note your billing, shipping address, and your payment options. If you are sending a check, please enclose driver’s license number for verification. You can also mail in a money order or cashiers check. You can also pay by credit or debit card by writing the card number and expiration date on your order form.

A. SportBikeCam has a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. We want to do all that we can to see you as a customer again. Even more than this, we want you to be so happy with your purchase that you can tell someone about us. All items are double checked before they are shipped to you to be certain that you are only getting the highest quality product. If you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason at all, you can return it for a full refund or exchange: whichever you choose.

All returns must be undamaged and returned within 30 days of your purchase for a complete refund.


Q. How do I change or cancel an order? [return to top]
A. Whenever you need to change or cancel an order, please call our offices at 650-592-5506. Tell one of the representatives what you would like to change, or if you would like to cancel the order. They will look up your order and process the change for you. Make sure you call before 1PM PST on the day that you place your order to make any changes or to cancel; because after that time UPS may have already picked up your package.


Q. How can I place an order without using my credit card? [return to top]
A. There are other payment options available at the Online Shop which you can use to pay for an order. Select the option most suitable to you in the "Payment Method" area. For example, if you wish to pay by Check, select this option to create the order. You may send your check to our address by quoting your order number.
