SportBikeCam.com - Honda Modification Instructions

Some 2000 - 2001 models

Note: This does not affect the way the fuel cap mounts to the tank.

Some 2001 and earlier motorcycles need to have the 2 mounting holes drilled and/or tapped. The stock screws have a 6mm size head with a 4mm thread. This 4mm screw is not strong enough to hold a camera.

First, check to see if the supplied mounting bolts from your SportBikeCam Mounting Kit are the same size as the 2 mounting bolts on your fuel cap. If your Honda bolts are smaller, you will need to drill and/or drill and tap the 2 mounting holes. This will take 10-15 minutes to complete.

Hold your camera mount on the fuel cap and mark the 2 holes that it will mount to.

Remove the 3 screws that hold on the cap.

Insert your key and remove the fuel cap from the tank - 3 mounting screws.

You can either drill the 2 holes 1/4" and use a nut on the bottom of the fuel cap or drill and tap the holes 6mm x 1.0.

Clean the fuel cap to make sure there are no chips that could get into tour fuel tank.

Place a rag or paper in the fuel tank before installing the camera mount tank bracket on the bike. That way there is no chance of dropping the nuts into the tank.

Remove rags or paper and your done!
